Golf Course Netting: Professional-Grade Barrier and Containment Systems

Golf course netting protects people, property, and vehicles from errant golf balls. Whether you need driving range barrier netting, fairway containment along property boundaries, or perimeter netting around tee boxes, US Netting supplies commercial-grade netting systems built to professional specifications.

Driving Range Netting Solutions

Driving ranges require the most extensive netting installations on any golf course. Side barriers, back stops, and overhead containment all need reliable netting that stops balls traveling at 150+ mph while withstanding constant outdoor exposure. We offer three tiers of driving range netting to match different budgets and performance requirements:

  • Economy Driving Range Netting — Polyethylene construction with 5-7 year outdoor life. UV-treated and rot-proof. Best for facilities starting up or on a tighter budget.
  • Pro Driving Range Netting — Heavy-duty polyethylene with 7-10 year outdoor life. Stronger construction for high-volume ranges with significant daily ball impacts.
  • Premium Driving Range Netting — #18 diamond mesh knotted nylon with 10-14 year field life and manufacturer's warranty. Tarred, UV and water repellent. The highest-grade driving range netting available, with nylon rope border and optional riblines for spans over 30 feet.

Each tier is available in custom dimensions to fit your range layout. View detailed specifications and pricing on our driving range netting page.

Golf Course Perimeter and Fairway Netting

Golf courses adjacent to residential neighborhoods, roads, parking lots, or other public areas face liability concerns from wayward golf balls. Perimeter barrier netting installed along critical fairways and tee boxes prevents balls from leaving the course property and reduces liability exposure.

Custom netting systems can be designed for any fairway layout. Pole heights typically range from 40-120 feet depending on the trajectory of shots that need containment. We can spec netting for specific locations based on your course's shot dispersion patterns and the level of protection required.

Netting System Components

A complete golf course netting installation includes several components beyond the netting itself:

  • Support poles — Galvanized steel poles set in concrete foundations. Height depends on the application — driving range barriers typically use 40-80 foot poles, while fairway perimeter installations may go up to 120 feet.
  • Cable systems — High-tension galvanized steel cables strung between poles at the top and bottom of the netting. Cables distribute wind and impact loads across the full span.
  • Riblines — Horizontal support cables that run through the netting face at intervals. Critical for large spans (over 30 feet wide) to prevent the netting from sagging and to distribute wind load.
  • Turnbuckles and hardware — Tensioning hardware for adjusting cable tightness seasonally and after storms.

Selecting the Right Grade

The right netting grade depends on your application. For driving ranges with heavy daily use, Premium netting with its 10-14 year warranty is the most cost-effective long-term choice. For seasonal or lighter-use installations, Economy or Pro grades provide reliable performance at a lower initial cost.

All grades are UV-treated for outdoor durability and resist rot, mildew, and moisture degradation. The key differences are in material (polyethylene vs. knotted nylon), mesh pattern (square vs. diamond), and expected service life.
